Evaluation for Appropriate Tillage of Sandy Land in Arid Sandy Area Based on Limitation Factor Exclusion Method

چکیده

Investigating and evaluating the quantity spatial distribution of arable sandy land in arid semiarid areas is great significance for sustainable development utilization resources maintenance stability structure function regional ecosystems. Based on characteristics soil, being without susceptible to wind erosion, this study used limiting factor exclusion method investigate evaluate areas. All soils were taken as evaluation objects (including visible invisible land). On basis following principle ecological protection, indicators methods determined. The results Hangjin Banner are follows: total area recessive was 1.2 × 106 hm2; accounted 42.6%, 57.5%. However, only 7.7% suitable farming, which current cultivated bare sand extremely-low-coverage grassland, inland tidal flats, other saline-alkali land. Even if these lands be sustainably after reclamation, reasonable irrigation engineering measures, field protective farming measures must taken. It hoped that can provide a valuable reference desertification control

Spatial Patterns and Natural Recruitment of Native Shrubs in a Semi-arid Sandy Land

Passive restoration depending on native shrubs is an attractive approach for restoring desertified landscapes in semi-arid sandy regions. We sought to understand the relationships between spatial patterns of native shrubs and their survival ability in sandy environments. Furthermore, we applied our results to better understand whether passive restoration is feasible for desertified landscapes i...

Evaluation of a LIDAR Land-Based Mobile Mapping System for Monitoring Sandy Coasts

The Dutch coast is characterized by sandy beaches flanked by dunes. Understanding the morphology of the coast is essential for defense against flooding of the hinterland. Because most dramatic changes of the beach and the first dune row happen during storms, it is important to assess the state of the coast immediately after a storm. This is expensive and difficult to organize with Airborne Lase...

New land-based method for surveying sandy shores and extracting DEMs: the INSHORE system.

The INSHORE system (INtegrated System for High Operational REsolution in shore monitoring) is a land-base survey system designed and developed for the specific task of monitoring the evolution in time of sandy shores. This system was developed with two main objectives: (1) to produce highly accurate 3D coordinates of surface points (in the order of 0.02 to 0.03 m); and (2) to be extremely effic...

Wind-sandy Environment and the Effects of Vegetation on Wind Breaking and Dune Fixation in Horqin Sandy Land, China

Horqin Sandy Land is located in northeast China (4241’-4515’N, 11835’-12330’E). The wind-sand topography in Horqin Sandy Land can be described as two series--sand deposition and wind erosion. Wind is the natural force for the formation of wind-sandy environment, under windsandy environment, the wind erosion processes such as sand drifting, dust-storm, etc. occurred frequently because of the fre...

Effects of Sandy Desertified Land Reclamation on Soil Carbon Sequestration (Key Study: Kerman province)

Desertification leads to decrease in the ecosystem C pool and attendant reduction in Soil Organic Carbon (SOC). Reclamation of sandy land in arid and semi-arid has a high potential to increase carbon sequestration and improving soil quality. Our objective as to examine the changes in the soil carbon sequestration and soil properties of two soil layers (0–20 and 20-50 cm) under two types of recl...
